Allow things to pile up
Batching is a productivity technique of grouping similar tasks together.
In the seminal books on productivity, Getting Things Done, David Allen advocates having an incoming system that helps you pile up all tasks. Such a system will allow you to unlock batching efficiencies and stay focused on priorities.
Nobody likes the thought of a pile of tasks. This though would be the prerequisite for batching.
